Passive Euthanasia is permitted in India. In the judgment passed by the court in the famous Aruna Shaunbag case, the court specified two irreversible conditions to permit passive Euthanasia 1) the brain dead for whom the ventilator can be switched off. 2) those in persistent vegetative state for whom the feed can be tapered out and pain managing palliatives be added according to laid down international specifications. In case if wishing to take any action then inform the said fact in writing to the local police, issue legal notice, file proceedings, etc.
